Georgie marks my fifth Dine L.A. in its second week. We chose this particularly since it was close to home, and read that it was a new restaurant that serves Modern American cuisine. It's located in the lovely Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills, which replaced Scarpetta. I heard great things about it, but never had the opportunity to experience Chef Scott Conant's dishes. The renovated restaurant is cool & lush, and the hostess (Jessica), Waiter (Dalton), and servers were very pleasant. Our first course, my mother and I chose the Kobocha Squash Soup (Whipped Coconut Milk, Yellow Curry, Cilantro and Peanuts). Wow, this was superb! I love Kobocha Squash and having the peanuts blended in the soup gave it more flare. The Second course we decided to order the Warm Lobster Roll (1.25lb Lobster, Coleman's Mustard, and Bibb Lettuce) and Short Rib Ravioli (Hen of the Wood Mushrooms and Beef Jus). The Lobster Roll was outstanding. It was so meaty and the signature spicy sauce made it incomparable to others I have had. I would say that this is their "Hot" item for sure. The Short Rib Ravioli was like ambrosia to me. The flavors were exquisite. The desserts, Mexican Chocolate Budino (Coconut Whip Cream & Sesame Crunch) and Apple Galette (Ginger Spice Gelato) were praiseworthy. If you like pudding, then the Mexican Chocolate Budino is delish. I am more fond of apple and this was absolutely divine. Chef Geoffrey Zakarian and Chef De Cuisine Sean Heller are remarkable. We went during lunch and this was definitely a deal you cannot miss out on for $25pp, but if you add the Lobster Roll you tag on another $25. This is still a great price considering for non Dine L.A. the price of the Lobster Roll is $37. So don't miss out as this is the last week.
